About

So you’ve stumbled across thelump.net. You’re startled, confused, and a bit peckish. You rub your tired eyes, and gaze around the place like an open-jawed tourist in a foreign land, awe-inspired by the bright neon lights, the loud evening traffic and the strong smell of coffee. “What’s this all about, you say?” in a demanding yet curious voice.

Well, it’s a sport blog, but it hasn’t always been so; if you hunt back through the archives you will find many ‘This Week in Lumps‘ posts. Over time, it grew into a football blog, of which original articles were posted under the title of ‘Tapped Up’, a phrase used to describe a handful of transfer sagas involving players such as Ashley Cole and Dimitar Berbatov- a reminder that no matter how beautiful football can be sometimes, it still has this dark, evil underbelly full of greedy agents and millionaire superstars, who are only interested in themselves, and not the club(s) that made them who they are.
