So you’ve stumbled across thelump.net. You’re startled, confused, and a bit peckish. You rub your tired eyes, and gaze around the place like an open jawed tourist in a foreign land, awe inspired by the bright neon lights, the loud evening traffic and the strong smell of coffee. “What’s this all about, you say?” in a demanding yet curious voice.

Well, its easy to explain: the lump is like an online sweetieshop, but instead of gobstoppers, flying saucers and curly wurlys, you get news, reviews, opinions, rants, articles, tips, gossip… all sorts of everything, and its addictive, just like the sweeties. Its a blog from the UK, for the people of the UK; we have no grudges or bad feelings towards our Western neighbours, but its always nice to keep things a little homegrown once in a while, so that this is a blog grown from our own bad weather and high cholesterol.

In the not-so-distant future, there are plans for additional daily articles, from different authors, all blogging with different stories to tell, and different opinions of life and surroundings. At the moment, it has just one recurring column (every Tuesday), and one sporadic column, both of which which you can read about here:

If you are interested in contributing, either as a weekly author, or a one-off post, you can flag your interest and find out more by emailing andrew[at]thelump[dot]net, including information about yourself (or a link to a social network profile if you have one), what you want your article to be about, and even a draft copy of (what would end up being) your first post.
