This Week in Lumps
#51 [13/05 - 19/05]
Following on from last Tuesdays Über post, here’s the next large lump in the celebration of reaching 50 weeks not out, there or thereabouts.
· The limited UK release of Rock Band is now just days away. The music video game, in a similar vein to Guitar Hero, allows players to perform in “virtual bands” by providing up to four players with the ability to play three different peripherals modeled after music instruments (a guitar peripheral for lead guitar and bass guitar gameplay, a drum peripheral, and a microphone). The release features lots of different rock songs to attempt, and also contains lots of downloadable material should you ever get bored of the original list. The release will be out on XBox360 on May 23rd, whilst Playstation 3 owners will have to wait until August 29th.

· It is proving so popular in the US that rumours are around that Guitar Hero 4 will be very identical to this release. This article also talks about the user base being 40% female, so maybe a lean in the feminine market for the future may also be planned.

· Facebook is getting a facelift. The current top rated comment on Digg explains the gist:
“I’ve noticed that they have been using considerable user feedback in developing this new look, something I didn’t necessarily expect from a huge site like Facebook. I do however, congratulate them because they are seeing what their bulk user base wants and building to suit them, too little social networks are doing this recently.”

Trying out Twitter for the first time? Add me at this link and here my random sprouts of nonsense from time to time. I’m sure I have more links I could share (such as my Google Reader shared items, or my digg account) but that’ll do for now.
